Hosted by The Rivendell Center and NOBLE. Join Joseph Loconte, PhD, a New York Times bestselling author, educator, and filmmaker, and be part of the conversation as we honor America’s 250th! We’ll start with a lively reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres, and then launch into the film and the Q&A discussion.
Consider the revolutionary resume of Benjamin Rush: a signer of the Declaration of Independence, chief surgeon in George Washington’s Continental Army, a pioneer in psychology, a fervent abolitionist, a champion of women’s education, and a man of faith. It is hard to think of a colonial leader who more fully embodied the political and religious ideals of the American Revolution.
The one-hour documentary, RUSH: The American Revolution’s Indispensable Doctor, was introduced at the White House Arts & Culture Summit and screened at the Tribeca Film Center in New York City.
