The Momentum Lecture Series: “Why Grand Rapids?” is a thought-provoking community dialogue that explores the history, identity, and future of Grand Rapids through the lens of culture, education, and Black excellence. This session invites participants to reflect on the city’s legacy while engaging in meaningful conversation about opportunity, equity, and community transformation.

Through storytelling, lived experience, and critical insight, this lecture challenges attendees to think deeply about what has shaped Grand Rapids and what is possible moving forward. It is a call to awareness, engagement, and collective momentum toward a stronger, more connected community.
